This one isn’t anything like a box, but there’s much more to reveal in less than 12 hours. Thanks for the photo.

No longer a "Mini" is this the return of the BIg Ursa, swappable sensor and all that? :D

Whatever the price this new camera will be I won't be an early adopter. Every Blackmagic cameras I bought within a few weeks the price get slashed. Even the 6K FF camera had £500 Black Friday reduction just a few weeks after I bought mine and I anticipate another price reduction later today.

If that is 12K FF then I will be very happy. I always felt like FF is great for some shots, and S35 is great for others. This will allow us to shoot 8K FF and 8K S35 on the same camera. Which makes FF more of a tool than a commitment.

Agreed.

& I believe thats a Usb-c port in the front top right, so that means to me a new Video Assist will be showcased also.

It looks quite compact...but we´ll find out soon!

Whats that bit on the top? (not the antena, the other bit) A viewfinder?

I thought is was a handle or mount point as it's shot a bit from off center to display the wifi-6/6E antenna.
A center mounted viewfinder on a Cinema LF body seems a bit odd.

Or let be bold, a LIDAR system for autofocus with cine lens ?

We will see.

Just sold my URSA G2 10days ago, very curious to what Blackmagic will offer, will definitly rent one out !

I so hope they teamed up with DJI to easily integrate not just their Lidar module but also their transmission system. Although I doubt it, might interfere with their Video Assist sales.

If we´re assuming it´s a full frame sensor, I doubt it would be the same 6K full frame sensor used in the last BM6K Cinema Camera, otherwise they would have two cameras competing against each other.

Is it possible to make their own super35 12K sensor a bit bigger into full frame size, but maybe make it 8K to keep readout speeds decent??

Or does it not work like that!?

Given there appears to be a move away from model naming according to purely resolution; and that being here 'Cine'; with an apparent, remote, maybe, lens connector; a USB- C (or HDMI?) front connector, for a possibly, new VF, or all manner of assists; what looks like a LPL mount, possibly; an antena for, either a possible wireless video system, a la Arri; or an ENG radio mic receiver, a la Sony; I imagine this is the new platform going forward that could serve both film and broadcast, eventually. And the Super35 existing 12K sensor can be made to operate at very respectable high rez, read outs already, so a FF sensor based on the same proprietary BMD IP... anything's possible :) and such wooliness on my part is only to counter my foolishness of joining in on such speculation at this late stage.

Joe Shapiro wrote:It wasn’t a direct comment about your post but rather to Ellory’s. Apple Silicon is an ARM-based design and its integrated GPU is clearly strong enough to make Resolve sing. It’s also very efficient power-wise. But I wouldn’t call it a low-end processor.

I’m mostly saying that I wouldn’t expect a Resolve 19 that’s going to work well on low end PCs that can barely run Resolve 18.

Joe, I didn't say without a GPU, but an integrated GPU.
So, 2 things why I hope and think they can? 1. If they can port DVR to ARM (assuming per other's post), they should be able to do it for PC/Intel with the 770 integrated gpu and 12+ gen cpu, or with the Intel A770 cards from Intel. 2. Hitfilms runs on low end PC efficiently and pretty much has similar look and feel of Resolve. I doubt by now that's what Resolve 19 will be... but still hoping. :)

The Intel A770 cards are already supported as they are quite capable. The integrated 770 (non-"A") isn't in the same league and won't have the same performance but are you sure it doesn't run at all? Historically some of Intels integrated combos have been able to run Resolve at least for editing.

Seriously, though—I'm excited to see what's in store tomorrow. As much as I love our 12K, I'd prefer if it had a better monitor (or at least up-to-date firmware to calibrate it), L-mount, CFexpress, and just a little more dynamic range. A slightly smaller body would be wonderful, too. And, of course, that amazing sensor and OLPF. Maybe remove the 12K from the body and don't focus so much on the Ks.

I was one of the early adopters of the 12K at $10K and, while it did sting a bit to see it slashed by 40% soon after its release, the camera paid for itself many, many, times over, so I'd probably do it again.

Your camera never paid for itself not even a penny. Its you who put the effort in that got you paid.

Music remixer is stupidly impressive. What century are we living in?

Is the ducker tool a bit like auto sidechaining? This is wild.

I'll be the negative nelly. The music remixer is...meh. The other stuff is far more impressive and far more useful I think. I am concerned though Resolve is becoming too bloated. They should slow down a bit and do a bug squash version.
