Gyro data on a moving car

I want to mount a P4K to a windshield as a car cam (if anyone has any better ideas for a rig than a suction cup let me know) and am worried about rolling shutter. I figured I'd use gyro data but does the moving vehicle throw it off?

You can't get rid of rolling shutter skew that's caused by movement of objects in front of the lens. Do you mean rolling shutter or rather jitter caused by all the little bumps when driving?

Rolling shutter is constant. You would use the gyro data and Resolve stabilizer to correct the nicro bumps.

Wouldn't the gyro data be altered by the car's motion? (I want to stabilize to the interior of the car, I'm not sure if I made that clear.)

No, you didn't. In that case, gyro data are useless and you can only use the stabilisation by pure software. Good luck with RS, it might show as the 'jelly' effect. A faster camera might be the better choice, you may want to rent a Red or Sony with global shutter.

Setting your gyro stabilisation to 0 will correct the rolling shutter ONLY, which will make digital stabilisation work better subsequently.

It does, but I'm not sure about that use case.
It might be a solution to first try reducing RS and then stabilise by one of the software options. If nesting doesn't work, I'd do an intermediate render.
