Gimme a few weeks after I get mine.

OT: the camera doesn't matter.

I'm curious to see the camera in a more aggressive shooting style.

we all know what sliders and tripod shots look like "they look great" but how does it handle a more run gun style like hand held etc...

I shoot alot of music videos some very aggressive. i know how the epic/scarlet and all the canons hold up in these situations but im not sure how the BMC holds up. are there any high shutter examples even

If you want to see the camera used in a run and gun situation, then John Brawley recently posted a very nice clip that was shot hand-held without any rig.

I'm just getting started in cinematography but I'm primarily going to be shooting music videos for now. I have one project in the beginning stages that will probably be a little 'actiony'.

But of course, I need my actual BMCC to film it on first :/

Nice, i think it could be the perfect camera for short format productions. I wish is had 48 fps, 60fps, @1080 even. SSD drive (sata 3) should be able to do 2.5k a@60. I really Hope BMD has there ears open cause if gopro can do 1080@60 and even 4k its like whats going on yes i know its not raw but at the same time its going to sd cards at a new 35mbits codec in cinestyle.

If you've seen a 5D's jello, it's pretty much exactly the same as that.

it's not a noticeable at a higher shutter speed. most people just stay at 50 on dslr i tend to double that in most cases unless im under some florescent lighting

2.5K at 60fps may require an SSD that supports sustained random writes and reads at 92,000 4K operations per second. Off the top of my head, don't know any SSD that has a capacity allowing for at least 20 minutes of shot time that will handle this rate. After you find the SSD that will handle it, then you would have to know if the BMCC processors can handle that much work and not overheat. I'm sure there are a host of difficulties so why bother to say it should handle it? The GoPdo is another camera will completely different goals and capabities. It's not a cinema camera and its very affordable so just buy it and enjoy what it can do but don't bother to hold it up as an example if what the BMCC should or could do. Sorry if my answer is curt but these kinds of suggestions have all been made and discussed previously.

i think a lot of people do not realize how tech works with raw and data rates / cpu speeds etc.

go pro it is like flying to the moon with mazda, you will not be sure if you will be alive when you get there.
most of the time you may get there but with variable results. in the other hand results are not so important also as you just have fun.

i see with raw you want to have your material spot on every time and on budget.
so there are some limiting factors due to budget.
maybe bmc can do 60 fps but there will be heat and or cpu / data rarate or what ever questions.. and most likely it could do 4k but with different sensor and big price tag.

it seems a bit ignorant to wish that bmc would do everything on the same budget
that some biger cameras do.

i meant tech sense.

when r one became epic then one could see how big is the difference in demand for post hardware.
most people can not ever run 5k realtime on current setup. and the difference was "just" 4k to 5 k.

so to say 25 fps raw vs 60 or 120 raw is just politics that just amazes me.

I think people are getting carried away here I am not a novice when it comes to cameras and how they work or data rates on on cpu's or gpu's. I shoot the epic a lot I know it creates a lot oh heat when shooting high frame rates. I was just saying that it would be nice to get 60fps even at 1080 with in dnxhd or prores even, higher then that would be fantastic but for the most part 1080p would do. I have and prolly never will shoot on a gro pro for any reason at this point I was just stating that I'm sure bdm has built these cameras with future firmware upgrades in mind just like I'm sure down the road we will see a bigger 4k or higher camera with a bigger price tag. I'm a thankful for what bdm has done with all there products essentially the camera is a steal if u factor in the full version of davinci resolve it comes with so either way u put in I'm still waiting on my camera just like all the folks on here ( well most of) and I'm happily waiting with no fuss.

I think John Brawley may have suggested that it probably won't do 60fps, but possibly around 40fps but that's up to Blackmagic (correct me if I'm misquoting you, John). I think when you're dealing with more than the data rate of the current frame rates options, you start to need some sort of RAID 0 based SSD cards which is probably what the F65 needs to record its massive raw frames.

I'd love at least 40fps in ProRes 422 HQ, as that would be 62.5% slow motion when shooting 25fps PAL which is a useful enough in terms of some slow motion abilities. Obviously having 50% (50fps for 25fps) slow motion would be really nice as DSLRs do this, albeit without the detail that the BMCC affords.

50% slow motion is especially good for music videos as you can essentially go "half time" with a shot with the music behind it.

I agree 48fps would be good for me even at 1080p
