So, I guess what you're saying is, don't ever include in our footage that magnificent brilliant orb in the sky, which is provided for free every day except when cloudy?
And don't include the marvelous things that orb's light does as it glints off reflective surfaces, especially water, expensive vehicles, and so forth. On many surfaces, the spectacular result can be a fireworks display of beauty.
And avoid at all costs sunlight piercing through foliage (or g*d forbid, through a beautiful actress' hair), streaming directly at the lens, which creates amazing patterns, especially when animated by camera motion, or the wind, or both.
And, as noted by others above, it's not just the sun's light we need to avoid, it's any extremely bright light source.
So, I guess what you're saying is, unlike filmmakers who shoot with actual film, or video shooters who shoot with most other cams that don't have this handicap: Limit what you shoot, or expend a lot of unnecessary effort, or hire a crew, or that old chestnut: Fix it in post!
Thank you for your sage advice. I have committed it to memory.
