1st Time Post

PostWed Nov 07, 2012 12:49 am

Hey all...this is my first post. I wanted to get it out of the way in case I have anything of substance to say later, I won't be flamed for not already having contributed to the drama beforehand. Thanks and have a great day.

I support this thread - as someone has just accused me of being part of some large scale attack on BMD when my position is quite the opposite.

The "seriously" in Luke's comment indicated the "large scale attack on BMD" comment was made tongue in cheek. He then asked two pretty interesting questions:

Where did you all spring from? Why now?

I too am curious why so many first time posters and guests are now motivated to join up and post. What happened today?

Well, I come from Texas.

Why now?

I think it's a cosmic collection of frustration reaching the boiling point. I can't speak for everyone, but I've been silent for quite a few months, though now I feel BMD needs to see there are actual people behind the numbers on their back order spreadsheet. I'm excited about the product, but day after day when there is no update at all from the company that states it will give an update, it kinda sucks the wind out of that excitement. If you say you're going to give an update in "a day or two" do it. If you're not going to give the update, don't say you will. It's a simple matter of integrity and I know I wouldn't get away with that kind of stunt for months on end with a client.

There are a lot of mixed feelings for me: I'm optimistic about the product...less-so about how it's being handled. OTOH, it's quite noble of the company to allow me (and others) to vent our frustrations on THEIR company website. They certainly don't have to do that. I'm not trying to "slam" BMD, but I'm just as frustrated as the rest of you. I just haven't been as vocal about it until today.

To clarify, I meant MORE people. Not to take away from any of you that have already contributed to the conversations. Strength in numbers kind of thing.

I guess I'll take the role as community liaison and formally welcome you to the forum. As you can see, we are a classy bunch that can't sit on our hands for very long. There are a few people on here that do in-fact have their cameras and they post images and videos from the camera for all to see and manipulate, but most are rather quite because there is almost a backlash for them having the camera. There are updates from BMD official which seem to come out about once every week and a half to two weeks, but it doesn't seem to change. The only other thing about the forum is pretty much every thread will work its way back down to the the topic of the camera not shipping, BMD not giving updates in a timely manner and the way that they ship out pre-orders.

Welcome to the forum.

Let me start by saying I have nothing against Luke - seems like a cool guy - I just didn't appreciate being put under the banner of "where did you all spring from? Why now?"
Me - Like everybody else has become extremely frustrated about the situation regarding the BMCC delays. I may not have voiced my opinion via this forum before now, but I - like everybody else shares the right to comment where I see fit. The bottom line is - after another day without my BMCC - my patience is now at an end. That is all that happened today.
I have been watching this forum topic in particular since the beginning and have become familiar with all of your views and concerns (especially mhood - entertaining guy). I actually check the forum index maybe 6 or 7 times a day - just in hope of maybe finding out some new information.

The suggestion of "mob mentality" from PaulDelVecchio... Let's hope that ridiculous statement was made tongue-in-cheek also.

welcome all, I'm new too, I don't care really, just want consistent updates, and my camera.

We are all on common ground, we all want the same thing, lets not fight each other.

I can vouch for Jason, too. He's a real person, not someone who just created a duplicate account, and he's cool too. He's excited about the camera as we all are.
