1) If BMPCC cannot format a card in' camera then the card is too slow and would not work at all.
2) I had success with some 40 MB's write and 80 MB's read speed card in 24 FPS (not 30) Prores HQ (forgot the brand) so you can sometimes use cheap cards for cheap work. But since 30 FPS Prores HQ is 27 MB/s and card claims 40, I preferred to return it to the seller as faulty.
