First lowlight test

PostSun Aug 26, 2012 8:31 pm

Here is a quick and dirty lowlight test between two thunderstorms.

800 ISO on a Tokina 12-24 f4 at 12mm (hence the muddy edges).

If you want to play with the original DNG frame: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/119 ... ight-test/

Doesn´t look to shabby but I need to see the noise in motion to judge it.
Considering that there is 0 luma noise reduction applied in Camera RAW it looks pretty good.

If you denoise RAW video (almost wrote film...) with the temporal noise filter in Neat Video you should get a perfectly clean image without degradation!

My grading attempt. A little darker to get it noise free.

I've made a grading in Camera RAW.

You can push really hard. After all, its less than 4MP in a sensor almost the size of a Micro 4/3
