Wide Angle Lens for BMCC

PostSat Jan 03, 2015 10:04 pm

Hello, I'm looking for a wide lens for my BMCC which is good in low light situations, I have read some good reviews about the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens for Canon EF-M Mount. What do you guys think of this lens?

The Canon EF-M mount version of this will not work on the BMCC. You might be able to get it to work in a MFT mount. I have seen adapters for MFT lenses to EF mounts. I havent tried one so I can't say how well they work, but getting this lens in a MFT mount then adapting it would be the only way to use it on a BMCC EF mount camera. I would also check into the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 lens in a MFT mount.

My mistake. There are no adapters for M43 lenses to EF mounts. I saw one for M42 to EF on eBay and misread it. Sorry!

Have a look at the Samyang 10mm, good price and good optics.

Have you tried using the forum search tool. Many many many discussions already with lots of info. :-)

Here are a few discussions (took me 30sec on the search):
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=30516&p=184496&hilit=bmcc+wide
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15855&p=99600&hilit=wide+angle+lens+BMCC+fast

Canon EF-M won't work on any of the BM cameras.

If you have an EF mount you best "fast and wide" is probably the Tokina 11-16. Need wider you can look at the Sigma 8-16, but it's not at fast.

Lot more options on the MFT mount including the option of adding a Speed Booster.
