Canon 17-40L question

I bought this lens specifically to use with the BMCC, and I've recently read where some folks are reporting there is an issue with the camera not communicating with the lens. Does anyone have this cam/lens combo where it does communicate? Hoping this will be fixed in firmware update.

Frank has it and shot some stuff recently with it. There is currently no iris/aperture control
