No Mention of DNxHD in the manual

PostTue Aug 28, 2012 9:20 pm

The newly released august manual for the BMCC does not mention DNxHD at all and states "You can choose to record to CinemaDNG RAW 2.5K video or to the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) video format in
high definition."

Was DNxHD dumped?

Hi

In the v1.0 release, DNxHD was not included. By not including an additional codec, it helped accelerate development and testing so we can ship the camera sooner. Now that v1.0 is already available, we are working on DNxHD and hope to have it really soon. By the time the cameras are received, it is very likely that a software update will be available with DNxHD.

The cool thing is that Avid supports ProRes now so even though DNxHD is not available yet, we can still edit on our Avids in a native format supported by Avid, without having to transcode.
