Well, as far as I am aware, there is no EF adapter for PL, so people with Canon lenses would stick with EF, so they don't have to re-invest in lenses. Not to mention the huge price difference in PL vs EF glass.
I would also say that the EF mount is lighter, and the lenses are typically much lighter as well.
Plus the EF model is $500 cheaper.
So I would still argue that EF has its place in the market.
