NoCard ERROR on BMPCC

PostSun Nov 15, 2015 9:45 pm

Getting a NoCard reading on my BMPCC with a SanDisk Extreme Pro card in it.

Card was formatted HFS in camera, shot for a bit, turned the camera off and now reads No Card. Menu allows me to format the card, so it's not like if the card was removed.

Try taking the card out, and then putting it back in to see if it recognizes it. Which Extreme Pro card are you using?

Did that several times.

Only thing I can do is format the card to have it recognize. Makes this little ProRes beast a big pain in the field.

Derek,
These are the approve SanDisk Extreme Pro cards approved for the Pocket camera:
Sandisk 32GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/sec SDHC UHS-I
Sandisk 64GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/sec SDXC UHS-I
Sandisk 128GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/sec SDXC UHS-I
Sandisk 256GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/sec SDXC UHS-I
Sandisk 512GB Extreme Pro 95 MB/sec SDXC UHS-I

The 16MB Extreme Pro is Not recommended, if this is the card you are tying to use, you need to change it out. I use both the 64 and 128GB cards, with out any issues, and would recommend these, the 64KB card represents the best value right now.
Cheers

Thanks Denny,

I am using a card that is recommended. The 32GB Extreme Pro 95MB/s

And, again. I am shooting PR and RAW with this card just fine. I turn the camera off and back on again with a fresh battery or with the same battery, like you would in the field, and I get an ORANGE NO CARD reading on screen. I am able to format the card, and afterwards it reads as able to use, or READY.

This is not like having the card removed and having the FORMAT CARD option grayed out in the menu.

Derek, try using another card. I am,unable to duplicate this issue on my camera with the 64GB card. I did have one of the early 32GB Extreme cards, and had dropped frame issues on it. Your, problem might just be this card. Good luck.

This card is brand new, ordered 10/11/2015.

I have shot RAW and all flavors of ProRes to this card in the past and it has worked fine. Now, it's a problem with the card?

If you have had dropped frames with the 32Gb in the past, why is it registered as a recommended card? And I'm only asking you this since BM hasn't chimed in and your initial reaction to my fault was to post the recommended cards.

The card that had issues was the Extreme 80mps version, not the current Pro. Testing with another card will determine if it is the card, or the camera that is having the poproblem. If it is the card, a return for replacement is in order, if it is the camera, time to call BM Support for your region.
