Sound Devices PIX 240i - 60P

PostThu Jan 17, 2013 5:42 pm

Fairly simple question...

Would this recorder allow the BMCC to shoot in glorious 60p in ProRes, 10-bit 4:2:2? Still at a cost but a little cheaper than alternative recorders that shoot 60p.

No. The BMCC's maximum frame rate is 30p. If you record its 30p HD-SDI output at 60p, it would still only be 30p in a (expensively recorded) 60p stream.

Oh okay, thought I found a way around the main thing I feel its lacking, whelp, back to the drawing board (meaning simply waiting until Blackmagic develops 60p recording).
