Samsung Software Video - Shot on 2 x BMCC's

PostThu Mar 24, 2016 3:06 am

Posted this on BMCUser a while back, but thought I'd share here as well. Created a short promo video for Samsung's KNOX Software update (video is aimed towards IT, not the general public).

Very nice work Mark!

It's damn hard to shoot screens and make them look good. Did you replace in post, or were all the screens live? Are you using any type of anti-aliasing filter in camera?

Thanks Jamie. They were live screens and no filter. I shot almost wide open and in Prores with the BMCC as I find aliasing and moire is reduced compared to raw. The screens definitely could be better.

Wow, that's even more impressive. I wasn't pixel peeping, but I really didn't see any aliasing on my first viewing. You had a great mix of shots along with just the right amount of camera motion that helped keep the video moving. So any defects in the screens didn't draw attention. Brilliant!

Samsung Software Video - Shot on 2 x BMCC's

Mark or Jamie, what is a "live screen?" Is this like feeding a background shot on camera B and a talking head shot with a green screen on camera A and routing them into a device that replaces the green screen with live footage?
