Forgot to share these two model videos from that last Model & Photographer Meet Up in November.

Both shot on the URSA Mini Pro G2 of course.

I finally created a reel! Mostly shot with the UM4.6k. Snowy window scene shot on the BMCC 2.5k. A Canon 5Dmk2 was used for two other scenes. Can you tell which scenes? Mix of Canon, Xeen, Rokinon and Sigma lenses. Thanks for waching!

Here is my little experiment.

Shot on BMD Ursa Mini 4.6k with Samyang lenses in a small studio with makeshift chroma backdrop. I used cDNG 3:1 and 18fps rate with slowed down audio, and upspeed to 24fps in post. Shooting time was just 2 hours.

Used Resolve 16 and built in Fusion for all the editing/vfx. The project was a learning exercise for Fusion and chroma keying, and it helped.

Almost all backgrounds are stock footages.

I feel I used too much lens diffraction and flares, what are your thoughts?

Much of the past year has been spent getting my production company up and running, with a solid body of work--so that means a lot of corporate testimonial videos o_O

However, I did get to shoot a music video with my wife/director last year and it finally got released this week. All shot on the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro (BPM 1/2 filter on Sigma Cine zooms) and a lot of postwork in Resolve :D

Ursa Mini Pro G2
Pocket 4k on Ronin S for driving / moving shots

Mavic 2 Pro aerials
Canon 1DX for underwater / surf stuff (not by me)
GoPro Hero 8

Still very pleased with Blackmagic Color Science! The Canon color really falls apart in comparison.

Hey Sascha, nice spot, also on your web site. Do you know if the scenes with Pauline Ado were shot in southwest France?

During this period a good way to kill time while in self-isolation is to work on the reels. Here's the first reel I put together, which is my Model Video Portfolio Reel:

Just at the start of coronavirus madness (pre-social distancing and stay-inside) we did a quick -24hr turnaround to write+ film a couple 1min episodes for our webseries.

Here’s one of them. I’m very happy with how it turned out. And with the performance of the BMPCC 6K (3200 iso, braw 8:1)

Nice work Tim. "Last work for awhile" ... I know what you mean. My partner and I live in different towns so she was about to come here for a few weeks and we were going to shoot some performance audition tapes for shows and film narration when this hit. Now we both have time but we are 300 Kms apart. Maybe a Skype shoot? Strange times.

BTW, there is a hotel commercial I shot in January that is still in post. Hopefully it can be finished and color graded by me to show everyone. I think it is nicely done with both Pocket 4K and UMPG2. My only complaint is the Pocket 4K not having a native 16x9 resolution.

I recreated the cut that was sent to me. Color graded it and sent to client. Hopefully soon we'll be able to release something.

Here's a new music video I shot for the band Eleanoora Rosenholm. Half of the material is shot with a Sony FS700 & Odyssey 7Q+ and half with the Blackmagic Pocket 4K. There's a blog post about the making of the video below but I will be using the Pocket 4K more and more. We also got to use Astera LED tubes in this video and I was completely blown away by them!

So, for the past 7 or 8 months, while living in Dubai, I've been doing some work with Arslan Visuals. We shoot on Blackmagic Pocket 4K, Pocket 6K, URSA Mini Pro and some Canons and a Panasonic.

I worked as a camera assistant on this project, but it was Directed and DP'd by Ozzie from Arslan Visuals. Shot on the Pocket 4K in BRAW 4K. I'm not sure which compression, but I believe it was 3:1.

So sweet, Jukka. Perhaps you’ll post more someday... say a two hour feature.

I never shared this short film last year. But figured I'd share it now. Sadly I never had any say in the color grade. I tried to get the director to let me relink to the RAW footage to color grade, but he ended up only using the UHD ProRes Proxy files I provided him for the edit to make the final video. Still I shot it well enough and the VFX are cool.

Shot on the Original URSA Mini 4.6K in 4.6K CinemaDNG RAW 4:1 at 4,608x1,920 (2.4:1) at 24 fps.
