Not bad at all. I thought at first it was a documentary with some re-enactments...until the sniper popped up. That was a great shot, btw.

Here's a little fashion film I shot yesterday with a model. Shot in 3K (3072x2560) RAW 4:1 for output at 4:3 (1.33:1) and used a Black & White LUT in camera to see what it should look like when I graded it to Black & White in Resolve. I edited it in Resolve as well. I think it came out great. Hope you guys and gals like it!

Rokinon Cinema Lenses (24, 35, 50, 85, 135)
RAW 4:1 in 3K (3072x2560) at 23.976 fps
Edited & Color Graded in DaVinci Resolve 14

Thanks so much Jason. Glad that's what you thought, it's kinda what we're trying to go for. The older guy speaking at the start is actually my dad talking about the two times he thinks he saw it. It was the first thing we shot, kind of a test to see if was worth doing something on the theme. Then we constructed a fictional story around that.

Hey Guys!

I have some post-catching up to do, but I'm just going to start by sharing this recent project we just turned in.
It was a product demo for a skin care device, and it's meant to be a Tutorial explaining how to use the device, but since it was the Brand's first official video, we decided to take more of a lifestyle campaign approach. In that way it would help their brand image while communicating the necessary info.

password: senna

We may add some more graphics pending the client's request, but this should be the final cut.
Everything Shot in 3.8k 4:1 RAW with a few of the product shots in 4.6k RAW

Direction: Me and my film colleague Raymond Linares
Cinematography and Lighting: Raymond
Edit and Color: Me

I know Prores is an amazing codec, which definitely gets it done, and even up until now, we've been using it on mostly every project, but after incorporating RAW in the past couple shoots, it feels as if we got a little camera upgrade. We're now trying to use RAW on every project from here on out. The color information and detail is just delicious.

Anyways, Feel free to share thy thoughts!
All the best!

Well done Darian!

One note on the grade: I noticed a fair bit of colored banding in the highlights. My guess is a LUT is the culprit. Clients and consumers may not be bothered by it though, or it may be an intentional part of the look.

Thank you Jamie!
Oh no, I didn't catch that. Where are you seeing it? Compression perhaps?

Edit: Ah I see what you're referring to. Yeah, I was definitely okay with it along with the overall image, but we'll see if I'm totally okay with it with the Final FINAL version. ;)

Forgot to share this the other day when I made it live for everyone to see. This is a promo video for the Bike Night that I shot about a month ago. I shot some additional material at the latest Bike Night. However, this is without the girls doing the bike wash. This is more promoting the night and the stunt performers. A little more "All Audiences" as opposed to "Mature" like the other one.

Hi, recently i shot this, Warsaw moto show 2017, UM46K, 4:1 raw (recorded to samsung SSDs via breakout cable), lenses - sigma 8-16, canon 16-35 and canon 70-200. I used camera crane with pan/tilt head and glidecam for some shots. I also used aputure 120d led to light some scenes. It was my private project, mostly for fun and practise. Please let me know what you guys think.

Deyan, now that’s some concept! I’m sure that title will catch a lot of attention as a documentary and have its share of controversy. Best of luck with the project.

This entire aerial demo reel is done with my BM Production, I guess everyone is calling it Cinema now, 4k camera, and my 6ft custom Align 800 with a brushless gimbal.

Zero post stabilization, and I'm not great at color correcting. Enjoy.

There are so many beautiful clips in this thread. Its awesome. I was mocked recently because of the age of the BMCC4k, but the footage it produces is amazing. DJI may have finally caught up to this camera with the X7.

Nice, well done, colors looked good to me. However, if your Camera is the 4K version, then it is a BM Production Camera, the Cinema Camera version is 2.5K.
Cheers

I had a quick visit to ISRAEL and PALESTINE and made this little tribute with some footage I filmed.

I was testing the Panasonic 12-35mm 2.8 Mark II Lumix G Vario for the first time, some shots are not as clear and sharp as I wanted, but I'm pretty happy with the cinematic look I got.

Feel free to share your opinion ;)

We were on a road trip from Germany to Spain, where we mainly discovered the Andalusian region. This video is my love letter to the city of Seville. It is hands-down my favorite town in Europe. A combination of European and Arabic architecture, kind people, a big university, Flamenco dancers in the streets and an overall vibe of an appreciation of life. This video is just my humble attempt to showcase some of it. There is so much more to this place.

I wish ALL of you the best of health and success for 2018.

I guess I forgot to share this here. Oops. Shared this on Facebook last week with the URSA Mini group.

Shot with the URSA Mini 4.6K with Rokinon 24mm. I shot 120 fps in 2K RAW 4:1 (16x9; 2048x1152) Windowed Mode for playback at 24 fps. Edited & Graded in DaVinci Resolve.

Was super simple. It's a water based milk soup that she's pouring on her. She didn't want to waste precious milk. I'm happy enough, but feel the background could have been better since we shot in a shower. We're looking to shoot at a beach shower when it gets warmer.

So enjoy! Working on some future concepts with various models I know. I have some other shoots coming up. Not sure what I'll share. Some stuff might be really boring. Such as an industrial cleaning product I'll be doing a promo video for.

Okay, I better apologize right now given the current climate of global warming that might fry me on the spot for my innocently naughty comment.

I've been using the UMP for some documentary work. Footage is amazing but I find I have to be more careful about setting white balance and ISO when shooting 422. The 400 iso footage is best even in lower light (not low light).

This was shot at 800 iso with available light using the Sigma 24-70mm. It broke apart in grading. A lot of noise.

And yes, we have to be careful with naughty comments these days. I make sure all these shoots that I do have the utmost professionalism and respect for the models. No one should feel uncomfortable.

Shot on 4.6UMPro w/ Sigma 18-35, 50-100 & Tokina 11-16
All shot in 4.6 Cinemascope at 444. Some slow mo shots were UHD422 to hit 50fps. Graded in Resolve

Shot on 4.6UMPro w/ Sigma 18-35, 50-100
Mixed rez shoot. Some 4.6 Cinemascope and others 2K but all at 444. The 2K clips uprezed very nicely to 4K.

This was graded in Resolve.

Okay, another mature one. I did a Valentines Day and Easter campaign for DaVinci's Gentlemen's Club. So I still have a few edits to do for Easter, but the Valentines Day was priority one to get out. This is one of the videos I edited for Valentines Day. Enjoy!

Shot with the Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K in UHD ProRes 422 HQ
Project Fame Rate 23.98 fps, with 60 fps for slow-motion shots
Rokinon Cinema Lenses (16, 24, 35, 50, 85)
Edited & Color Graded in DaVinci Resolve

I still get a kick out of editing DaVinci's Gentlemen's Club videos in DaVinci Resolve.
