Video Assist 4K Cases/Bags?

PostSun Jun 12, 2016 9:26 pm

Hey,

so I just recently received my order of the video assist 4K and am happy with the device so far. However, I keep transporting it in its original cardboard box. So I guess my question is: Does anyone here use a specific case or a specific bag for the VA?

For my yet to be shipped URSA Mini 4.6K EF I have bought this special Pelicase from Jason Cases:

Unfortunately, the video assist doesn't fit into its accessories space and I have it reserved for other items anyway. So, let's see where you store/transport your video assists.

Perhaps a 7" tablet sleeve/pouch/case like this one on Amazon would be the quickest solution: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DZS1311195-7-Inch-Tablet-Sleeve/dp/B00I8T4J5C

For my 5" Video Assist I had been using this pouch from OP/TECH: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009K00JM/

However, I've recently switch to a cheap hard case which holds my camera bodies, batteries, and the Video Assist. Looks like the smaller version of that case might fit the 4K Video Assist well:

Wow, these are really worth looking into. I think I'll go with the Pelicase. Thanks, Christopher. :)

This is the case I use.
With it I can carry a bunch of extra batteries and audio cables with it.
Plus The wall power and charge fit in there with the monitor as well.

Not bad for $20.00

For those of you shopping for a case who didn't make it out to CineGear in Los Angeles, here's a coupon code for you.

mycasebuilder.com makes custom laser-cut foam inserts at affordable prices. They were handing out coupons at the show good for 15% off until July 10, 2016. The discount code is
Code: Select all
CineGear1615

Hope that helps!

Hi Everyone, this may seem super basic, but my blackmagic video assist fits perfectly with the batteries on into this Amazon basics hard case.

Go to Amazon and search "AmazonBasics Hard Carrying Case for 5-Inch GPS - Black"

The power chord will not fit so I have a second case for cables. Both cases fit nicely into the corners of my gear bag. Can't beat it for $10.

for 4K VA

Take a look at the Pelican 1085

For the 5" VA I use the Pelican 1050. With room for batteries.

Since I have my VA 5" in my camera Peli case, I decided to just use a Nintento 3DS case for it, it's quite sturdy and a perfect fit and I think I paid less than £5 for it.

If you already keep your VA 4K in a hard case, perhaps a 7"/8" tablet hard case will be more than enough, for me separate Peli for the VA was an unnecessary expense.
