powering 4.6K from Ronin gimbal not working anymore?

PostThu Aug 25, 2016 10:35 pm

Hello Ronin/Ursa 4.6K users!

I'm using a 4.6K-EF and the original Ronin (without M or MX).

I tested this setup before, some weeks ago, when we still used the old Ursa software.
With software 3.X It was possible to power the camera from the Ronin (D-Tab to XLR-4 cable).

Today I unfortunately found out it's obviously not working any more with software 4.0.
I use the same set-up/cable and I can switch the camera on, but once the gimbal starts
really working (once I move the whole thing around) the Ronin obviously starts to draw more power and the camera gets not enough anymore -> Ursa switches off.

Can someone confirm that?
Are there hidden camera-settings for minimum power before switching off?

All the best from Munich,

Emanuel

Reading other comments looks like power draw is higer on beta 4
I noticed too the last weekend where I was shooting a wedding; it tooks three 140Wh batteries to make the day, while on 3.x two was enough.
