Why did not say this in Manual or Tech Specs. Because the seller in the stores say it does not work is not compatible .like B&H :|

To document my assertion that the EF-S lenses really do work, here's a little quote from an interview with John Brawley - (emphasis mine)

"EOSHD: Which lens do you recommend out of the 15-85 EFS and 17-55 F2.8 EFS? Both seem a good match to this camera and then 11-16mm Tokina for the wide end.

JB: Wide angle lenses are desirable of course with this sensor. I really like the 15-85, but I hadn’t really used it before I came across this camera. All of those options seem very promising, and could all be a must have lens. Longer is obviously easier. I’ve been using the 24-105 as well as Compact Primes and EF mount Leica R series lenses (which are really special and are what most of the tests have been shot with. Bondi was shot mainly with the 15-85 until it got to night when I switched to the faster primes)."

I can confirm that EF-S lenses are definitely working with my BMCC. I'm using the Canon EF-S 17-55mm everyday on it.

DOF and moire/aliasing all seem non issues to me so far, tested both and no problems.

Of course it works. All it means is its a cropped lens for the apsc sensors like the sigma dc ex hc range. They are still bigger than the BMCC sensor.

What about the BMDPC, does the EF-S lens work on this camera?

EF-S lenses work on all the BMD cameras because they are designed to cover the Canon APS-C sensor which is a little larger than the sensor on the BMPC4K and a fair bit larger than the sensors on the BMCC.

¿Has anyone tried the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, how it performs? Thanks.

I just came back from a shooting where we had a bunch of lenses. My intention was to use the 10-17mm Canon EF-S lens for wide angle shoots. It did NOT work at all.
Not sure why. But I couldn't get Iris or manual Iris to work. Also Autofocus did not work.
The Tokina and Tamron lenses we had worked fantastic. No Autofocus and VC but for the rest they did what expected.
Not sure if this is the only EFS that don't work...
(PS: Of course I checked it on a 5D, the lens is brand new and worked)

No autofocus with the BMCC cameras.

Here is sort of an official list:

PS: With firmware some of the lenses could get working, so don't trust that list entirely. I would always test my new lenses before going on a shoot. ;)

Same here. I have Tokina 12-24 and Canon 17-55 and they work great.
