Looking for a Canon 24-70 2.8L that works?

PostThu Feb 21, 2013 5:07 pm

In case one of you was really wanting a Canon 24-70 2.8L that works on the BMCC then I just put my up for sale on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1086150791

It changes aperture just fine. If you would like a video demonstration first to be sure then I would be glad to provide one. I am selling this so I can add a couple of Rokinon Cine Lenses to my arsenal. It is a great lens and the glass is in excellent condition.

I'll be home in about 6 hours. I'll shoot a video demoing the lens on my bmcc and upload it. Should be able to have something up in 7-8 hours.

May I ask how your 24-70L works when everyone is reporting that it does not work?

I wouldn't say "everyone". Let me quote CaptainHook who was responding to a post of mine in the EF Compatibility List thread.

Yes, some people have a V1 and it works fine, and there are others like me that it doesn't. No one seems to really know why but it must be that copies produced in a certain time period work, and others don't. The first post should probably be edited to reflect that there are mixed results for the 24-70/2.8L V1.

I do not have my lens with me right now, because I try not to carry around gear that I have up for sale while I am working. I don't like to tempt fate like that. However, I will be home in 5 hours and will be shooting a video demoing the lens on my BMCC so people can see it for themselves. I don't know why my lens works and some don't, but it does.

In case anyone is still curious about this lens working on a BMCC. I shot a quick clip of it on my BMCC.

Not sure why mine works but others don't...

Pass does works for me.
I have not yet sold my 24-70. Will wait until 2014 when I finally can try it.

On a sidenote I'm happy to see first time someone actually operating the aperature. Only knew this from the manual. It seems somehow slow if you want to move quickly to a much different setting. But it is a good solution.
