Just got my camera on Monday and the bm utility on my pc tells me that my camera is up to up to date. Which i found surprising. Thought i would have needed to update it.

However I can't find anywhere that tells me what the firmware on my camera is to double check it. Would be nice to see this info in the menu somewhere. How can I check the firmware version on the camera?

If you just received your camera, you probably do have the latest firmware. Each camera is updated before it leaves the warehouse.

To check which version you have, you'll need to connect your camera to a computer.

From page 51 of the manual:
Checking the Software Version Currently Installed
To check which version of Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility software is installed on your computer, open
the About Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility window.
• On Mac OS X, open Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility from the Applications folder. Select About
Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility from the application menu to reveal the version number.
• On Windows 7, open Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility from your Start menu. Click on the Help menu
and select About Blackmagic Cinema Camera Utility to reveal the version number.

Can they please add a spot in the menu that states the firmware version? That sure would save a lot of time.
