Good afternoon everyone!,

Could you download some samples of the Blackmagic Mini Ursa 4.6k in the format RAW.DNG ???? If it's MINI URSA PRO even better.

Grateful!

Did you try it?

Lots of videos to LOOK at, but fewer files to download. Blackmagic has taken down their own and some samples that John Brawley had up has expired as well.

These are big files and it seems it's not that attractive to keep them up.

I'm also looking....

Just found out that the Blackmagic direct links to the raw footage of the shortfilm still work, coincidentally the links have been saved on my blog - which I totally forgot :D

Yeah.

It's super super expensive to host massive files for long periods of time that hundreds if not thousands of people download. I really struggle to justify the costs

Elton & Andree:

I have made some quick test shots for someone else on another forum, here are the files (links will expire in 7 days):

4.6k RAW 3:1 and UHD ProRes HQ

URSA Mini 4.6k with firmware 4.2
Sigma 18-35 F1.8
Schneider Platinum IRND 1.8

25fps / ISO 400 / 180° / F4.0
1 shot @ 35mm & 1 shot @ 18mm

I forgot to redo the WB so it will have a slight color cast into magenta, because the WB was made to a Dedo Daylight LED.

Good afternoon, Thompson,

Yes, I went to Google for days and I could not, so in the last case I came here in the Blackmagic forum.

Good afternoon Mr. Robert Niessner,

I am very happy and happy for this great kindness, because it was very difficult to find in Goiogle, just as Andree mentioned, that the files are temporarily. Here in Brazil few still have the Mini Ursa 4.6 and so I could only go to the internet and the forum here of Blackmagic that I will be affiliated with because my entire editing island will be Blackmagic.

Good afternoon Mr. Andree Markefors,

Exactly. This was also my difficulty in trying to find these raw files in Google, because the links then available had expired the download prose, I spent two days searching and I only found the BMCC 4K and Pocket.

I took down my sample footage a while ago to clear up drop box space. The files are generally large so it's difficult to store them on servers for long periods of time.

I may do another slow motion Guinness pour for St. Patrick's Day. This one with a little more Irish style if possible. I got new Guinness glasses to celebrate. I'll think about uploading those files.

Hi Timbutt2, Good Night !,

I would be very grateful. I am doing tests here on my edition island and I intend to soon acquire a Mini Ursa 4.6k.

Does anyone know of some 4k raw green screen footage? I'm considering the 4.6k UM camera for a green screen shoot. I've looked at some cinema 4k raw test GS footage from an FS5/CD Odyssey 7Q+ combo and found it a little noisy. I'd be curious to compare.

David, I have made you three simple greenscreen test shots.

Light source for greenscreen and subject: Kinoflo 4-feet 4-bank Daylight
WB set to Colorchecker Passport

4.6k RAW 3:1

UM46k with firmware 4.2
Tamron SP AF17-50 XR F2.8 @ 50mm
24fps / ISO 400 / 180° / F5.6
All shots with the Colorchecker Passport in the frame for color ref.

1st shot: Charmin bear

2nd shot: Chinese clay warrior
https://we.tl/WwpzghJ2A7

3rd shot: hand rotating
https://wsi.li/bJXsx9XJsVd1

Will update with links as soon as they are online.

EDIT:
All links are online.

Looking at the samples, the UM 4.6k GS footage is clearly less noisy than the FS5/CD Odyssey7Q+ combo. I'm not a sensor geek so i won't speculate why, when both are the same S35 size, but the BM sensor does have more pixels, is tuned to record RAW, and doesn't suffer from Sony down-market-model deficiencies. :)

Apologies, I never got to this. Ended up getting sick last weekend. So in the last week I haven't been up to "drinking" as I've been getting healthy fluids into my body. I'm a little disappointed since I wanted to do the new Guinness Pour video in time for St. Patrick's Day. Next year...

Last night I shot this:

The RAW video file is 35 GB in size roughly. Do you want me to put it on Drop Box to download the sample?

Tim, nice pour! What project frame rate and sensor frame rate did you use?

23.98 fps for a project time base, and 60 fps for the sensor frame rate. Shutter was 180° angle. And after the initial pour I speed ramped back to normal speed.

It was an Irish miracle, for the time I was drinking on St. Patrick's Day my cough disappeared. It was fantastic. Sadly, I still have had the cough and stuffed nose the rest of the weekend. But, I'm at the tail end of the sickness.

Hey Robert

Does your Tamron work well (Aperture + Image Stabilisation) with the Ursa Mini 4.6K? Thinking of getting the Ursa Mini as well as buying the Sigma Art but already have the Tamron 17-50 which I used with an old 60D.

Kayode, I have the older Tamron without stabilization (because it has better optical qualities than the newer one). Aperture works fine.

Thanks for the response. I guess the new one should work as well.
