Hi

I'm new here and think about buying the new camera. The quality is very important for me. This is why I've downloaded sample footages from site. Developing with DaVinci Resolve and others software I came across the annoying issue. (Seen on 4K from 1 meter very well)I understand that this is a problem with sensor. But I have a question - is it the rare thing? And if so - why they shot samples with damaged sensor and put it on site?

I wasn't able to find that frame in the video currently posted on their Gallery page. Where did you download this specific footage?

I have it too. I downloaded my files recently so…

And it's not something stuck on or under his shirt. When he moves the little square remains in the same spot in the frame.

I see it now, but didn't notice it before. I think it simply got under the radar.

There were several footages in RAW from Ursa Mini 4,6. May be they removed them.

On the other footage Balcony Shot this spot also exists. Hope that it´s becase of the only one pre-production camera.

Can you give me a frame number where to look? I had downloaded the files directly after they got released so I could check if they have that artifact too.
Did you use Adobe Camera Raw or Resolve?

Some people have a keen eye! I never noticed that artifact before. Too busy looking at the colour of the sunset. Must learn to avoid eye candy like sunsets and stay on point!

I think that was shot with a Pro type camera by the way. John Brawley may comment on it, but I think he's busy shooting this weekend.

Hi Robert,

It's in all the frames of the clip where the dude enters the house and then pours a drink. But it's extremely hard to see—if at all visible—in many of the frames. But once he turns his left shoulder pointing it at the camera and then walks towards the window before pouring the drink, there are many frames where's it's visible moving over his white shirt, starting with middle of his shoulder and then on his back like shown in the frame above.

But then I went back to the beginning of the clip and you can see it moving past that grey door frame that's catching the light. Based on this I'm assuming it's always there. I can't positively find it in the other clips.

It's understandable that it got unnoticed.

I can confirm that the artifact is in both shots from the house. It can be hardly seen and I had to hover the mouse pointer over it all the time not to lose it.

Could be something on the lens, mattebox or sensor. I'd say it is either on the mattebox because it has a contour or several defective pixels on the sensor which got mapped out.

Anyway, I have never encountered such an artifact with my camera. As Rick points out, this camera was an early prototype camera.

Where is the sample footage? I can't find it anywhere. Was the material removed from the blackmagic website?

That was because I saw it on 65" 4K TV from 1 meter (developed in DaVinci beforehand)!
