Hi - apologies if this has been asked before

What are the best anamorphic lenses that can be use don a EF Ursa mini?

I would prefer 2X and front elements and not having to do too much cropping- but open to ideas...

I am trying to avoid going down the Alexa mini and Cooke Anamorphic - as much as I would love too :D

BTW - I just shot this on the ursa

thanks

SLR Magic offers new Cine Anamorphot 1.33x up to full frame and 2x but I don't think that reaches full frame. I can dig into it more but there's a thread here on them.

Here is an article using the URSA Mini/Pro with the 3K Anamorphic crop (6:5) for 2x anamorphic lenses that gives you a 2.4:1 frame when desqueezed in post.

I admire those who shoot true anamorphic primes. Maybe in another life, it'll be my turn. In the meantime, that 4.6K 2.4:1 window will have to suffice for my spherical primes.

Looking forward to seeing your results!

John Brawley posted this link to an excellent test of anamorphic lenses:

Looking at this test, I'll say the Cooke Anamorphic looks the best to me because the lens flare is the most natural looking and least obtrusive with this lens. Arri Master Anamorphic was the second best. So overall, you can't beat the Cooke look, which has me hooked.
