Camera 4.3.2 update

PostWed Apr 12, 2017 6:11 pm

Anyone know exactly what this update does? The notice says nothing more than "improved touchscreen performance and reliability". Does that imply a remedy against some kind of hardware failure?

I'm leery of of taking an update for my working camera unless there is an appreciable benefit. More information would be helpful.

Just installed. Nothing noticed, if it helps...
Let's wait for guys from BMD to clear the things.

Anyone know if this update is also applicable to the BMCC 2.5K. The Read More.. on the support page mentions the Cinema Camera multiple times with no indication that the update does anything for it other than adding:

New features for Production Camera 4K:
Improved touchscreen performance and reliability

So far (touch wood), I am not sure that I have been having any touchscreen or reliability issues with my BMCC 2.5k so is it worth updating?

NB: Amended to change Read Me to Read More. Apologies for any misconceptions

You should assume not, since they explicitly identify which cameras are addressed by updates.

Readme says:

New features for Production Camera 4K
* Improved touchscreen performance and reliability

So no other camera.

BTW: the last update for the BMCC was 2.1 from 19. March 2015 - over 2 years now.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

Nothing to do with the BMCC. You need to read the "ReadMe" file to get the details of each update, as they are not useually for all cameras, just specific ones listed in the file.

You need to read the "ReadMe" file

What readme file? All I get in the downloaded .dmg (Mac) is the un/installer and user manuals.

Oh, the web page. Usually when someone says a "readme file", it's a file called readme.txt included with a download. Unless I'm missing something, you're referring to the same page everyone is citing that merely says: "New features for Production Camera 4K: Improved touchscreen performance and reliability".

I understand such brevity for a $1.99 iPhone app, but I think that an update to a $3000 camera deserves more explanation.

Anyone know more about this?

My bad, it is "Read more... following the brief description, here is the excerpt from this:
Please ensure that your camera is plugged into mains power before running the software update. For users updating from 4.0 it is advisable to export your presets and LUT’s onto a card as they will be removed during this update.

What's new in Blackmagic Camera Setup 4.3.2
New features for Production Camera 4K

Improved touchscreen performance and reliability...

Not much else to say, I guess. The dike also contains computer platform OS requirements and some General updating info.
