Filmed some surf scoters off the coast of Vancouver Island.

Nice. Is it the Sport or Contemporary? Did you use any IR cutoff?

Thanks. It's the Contemporary version. Pretty impressed with it so far. No IR, just the internal ND of the PRO.

Wow! The zoom range on that lens is incredible. And it seems like it's really sharp at 600mm. Is that the tightest you went on it? Overall, I'm very impressed with the lens. The footage looks fantastic.

I was surprised to see magenta vignetting tho in some of the shots, I thought it stopped long before 150mm. Hmmmm.

I noticed it as well. The few shots it appears on look to be much wider than 150mm lens. I'm guessing those shots are from a lens between 18mm to 24mm that was stopped down between f5.6 to f11 where the magenta vignette still often shows up in my experience.
Perhaps Mark Wyatt can confirm the lens used for those wider shots?

In any case, it's a lovely test of the Sigma 150-600mm. Beautifully done.

Excellent. I've been looking at the Sport version of this lens. What tripod/head combo are you using?

Agree.

I see it above 20mm and continuing until at least 60mm, at f/8 and smaller and on certain lenses of course.

Thanks guys. yes, for the first shot, and the shot of the man walking I used the cheap canon 18-55 kit lens (I had just carried that lens in my pocket in case I needed it).

Mark, I had thought of using my cheap Canon 18-55mm and 55-200mm EF-S lenses on the URSA Mini 4.6K PL camera (when the replacement EF mount is available). Do you think they'll be feasible? Do they cover the 4.6K sensor or a smaller window? Thanks, and apologies for briefly going off-topic!

This was the first time in a number of years that I used that lens. I'd have to do some testing with it to see if works ok. But, judging from this footage it does seem to vignette a bit on the full sensor. I was shooting around 18-24mm at f4-5.6.

Thanks, Mark. The slight vignette at 4.6K 16:9 (if that's what we are looking at in your clip) looks like it wouldn't affect UHD or 4.6K 2.4:1 windows.

FWIW the magenta isnt a function of the lens not covering the sensor (which it may or may not) its a matter of it being 35mm to 50mm ish at f/8 ish and not being telecentric.

The 4.6k sensor exhibits magenta vignetting in that circumstance no matter whether the lens is a full frame lens or not.

Just in case there's some confusion, when I mentioned vignette, I meant the conventional optical vignette characterized by the very slight darkening in the corners of the frame for the opening shot.
