Ursa Mini 4.6k screen flicker

PostFri Apr 21, 2017 4:39 pm

After several days of problem-free filming, I upgraded the firmware to 4.3.1 today. After upgrade, the fold-out screen shows a rapid flicker in projected sensor data (but not the information overlay that is being displayed simultaneously).

I wondered whether 4.3.1 has caused this, and reverted to 4.2 - but the flicker persisted. I have now again loaded 4.3.1 firmware.

I have searched this message board, but to no avail. One topic mentions a similar flickering, but in this case, it ceased after hitting the menu buttons (sometimes after several attempts).

The flickering does not render the camera completely un-usable but it is a big hinder. Is there anything I can try to solve this issue?

With best regards,
Lars

The flicker is common after the updates, but should go away after some use.

I have not gone to maintenance release 4.3.1 as I thought it was close enough to NAB 2017, that I'd save some retesting by waiting for the next minor or major firmware upgrade I anticipate in April.

It has, indeed, gone. But it scared me quite a bit. Can someone explain to me why this is normal behaviour?

Much obliged,

It's always been that way.

No idea why it takes so long to go.

Okay, was right about anticipating audio feature enhancements for Resolve, but apparently wrong about a new firmware for the URSA Mini 4.6K. The URSA Mini Pro will have the priority on upgrades like enabling Bluetooth in June.
