Small harmless glitch in UM46

PostWed May 24, 2017 2:36 pm

So all of my lenses were out on rental so I grabbed an old Pentax lens from the 70s, put on an adapter to EF, and stuck it to the Ursa Mini 4.6K. I was showing how the camera works to a friend.

I pressed the IRIS button telling my friend "and this button will autoexpose controlling the aperture" and the camera froze. The image feed was still working, both on the LCD and the SDIs, but the meters froze, the buttons on the camera stopped working.

The Pentax to EF adapter had a chip that was telling the camera that the aperture was f2.4, but when the camera tried to change the aperture and couldn't, it froze. I couldn't even power it off, I had to remove the V-Mount battery to do that.

Turned it on again and it was fine. Don't use chipped adapters.
