Video Assist 4k and HDR

PostThu May 25, 2017 12:01 am

Do you think the Video Assist 4k will ever get DCI 4k and HDR?

LOL! Love it Rick!

And, my 2¢ is that the Blackmagic Production Monitor 4K Pro should be a 17" or 24" Color Grading Monitor with HDR support, REC2020, P3, and Rec709, and it needs to be OLED. And for when you bring it on set it should also make coffee for the cast and crew.

Before the rumor mill runs wild, there has been no announcement for any such product. I'm just appreciating the humor of you guys this week. :D

LOL! Tony, I was completely kidding with my "product." Although, it would be nice to have something on set that makes coffee for everyone... I wonder if such a thing exists? Haha.

lol that's something I would actually expect BlackMagic to do! Still it would be very appreciated if they did allow HDR to be recorded with the 4k Assist.

Aren't we already recording HDR if the input signal is the log output of the camera? Of course it won't be previewed in HDR though. The sub 400 nits Video Assist 4K LCD screen isn't suitable for that.

As long as it's not me who's making the coffee. Those days are long over for me ;)

Eeeerrr, Rick! Wrong answer. It gotta be brazilian. It's the best. Unless you want a coffee with something else... like something to cheer you up beyond a normal coffee does. Along with the black powder some white powder in the package. Ahahahahaha
8-)

(Please, colombian fellows, just kidding. Except for the brazilian coffee being the best).

LOL! I do have to say I barely made coffee at the beginning of PA work due to one problem: I never made coffee because I don't drink coffee. To this day I'm still quite pathetic at making it. So as a Production Assistant I was tasked with other duties.

However, I do really like hot chocolate, and a hot chocolate and coffee mix is something I've done. The specific coffee blend that tasted best with my dark hot chocolate mix is Ethiopian Blend.

Nice touch, Tim. Although it`s nothing new, I`ve never tasted it. But I already have written it in my"next thing"list.
