No Black Calibration on Ursa Mini 4k, why?

PostMon Jun 05, 2017 7:31 pm

Is there any chance that the black calibration will be coming to the Ursa Mini 4k? We use these in a live environment each week, and at times need to boost ISO, which tends to make the shot useless with so much FPN, or noise in general. It looks like this calibration works great on the 4.6k, but why isn't it on the 4k? Even at 400iso there is noticeable noise.

you can build a black profile for a post noise reduction, a best for neat video tool.
If blackshadowing is not avaible for BMPC4k, Ursa mini 4k (same sensors), ursa 4k big may be only be cause not all sensors allow this? or there isn't way to apply to these cameras...

We can't really apply a profile for the camera in post, as we use these in a live environment. I'd have to believe its not a sensor limitation.

The BM 4K sensors are auto-calibrated on start up, so a Black Balance/calibration is not required. Why do you want to add a step that is not needed, and will not change the sensor behavior?
