URSA Mini 4K - RAW issues after Software update - PLS HELP!!

PostThu Jun 08, 2017 5:33 am

Hi there

I upgraded to software on my URSA Mini 4K to the latest from BM website yesterday.

I used the 4.3.3 update.
After update my URSA says its 4.3.1 - Is this correct?

Anyway - the issue.

I recorded some RAW (3:1) test footage today and then tried to import in Premiere Pro CC 2017 and I get there error from Premiere:

Error Message
Unsupported format or damaged file

I am just opening the folder in Media Browser then right clicking and choosing import - right??

I have tried a couple of different CFast Cards and same error. They are Lexar Professional 256gig 3600x or 128gig 3400x

I don't usually record RAW as its more than I need most times but I wanted it for a job tomorrow!

I have used the camera in RAW mode previously and it was fine.

Any ideas?

Should I try updating software again? Or can I role back?

Normal recording seems to work fine but it does make me very nervous that something is wrong...

Thanks

Julius, yes fw v4.3.1 is the latest for the UM4k/4.6k. For some reason BM seem to have skipped v4.3.2 though I think there is a naming mistake as when you click on 'more info' the title says v4.3.2??

Premiere does't support either 3:1 or 4:1 compressed RAW nor Prores 444 (+XQ) but does support Uncompressed RAW and Prores 422 formatts. Your files aren't damaged, best use Davinci Resolve if you need compressed RAW at the moment.

Thanks John

Don't I feel silly - Now you mention it I do remember that CC does not support compressed RAW.

I ran it through Resolve and what do you know...

Thanks again
