Lexar 3400x vs. 3500x CFast cards

PostFri Jun 09, 2017 2:09 pm

Hey guys! Wondering if you guys have input on whether the 3500x is worth spending the extra $$ on? I can get a new 3500x card for about $150 more than a 8-month old used 3400x card.

Not really worth the extra money. I have 3400x cards and they are just fine.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

I Use 3400 cards, bought up a bunch of them when they were going for $50 on Ebay. They work fine for me, though I never shoot fully uncompressed, so I can't speak to whether or not they work well on that setting, but 4:1 and 3:1 works just fine.

B&H specks says the 3500x has 5 MB/s slower write speed and just 15 MB/s faster read speed. So no question there 3400x would be choice do to a faster write speed.

I've been using the 3400s for some time with 4:1 and have had zero problems. Just spent a week in the desert under 100 degree weather and they didn't fail once.
