Hi,

after a shoot yesterday, i got a shock when i saw this? (see Pic below)

During the shoot i did not notice nothing. when I turn on the camera now, i get this artefacts for a few minutes. After that, the sensor starts to work normal, at least it seams so.

What's going on there?

I can tell you that you’ve got IR contamination for one thing

but on this shot i did't use the build ND Filters. So is there something i can do about it?

Did you light with tungsten?

no only with day lights

I can assure you those lines are not IR contamination. Assuming that the image you shared wasn't pushed a bunch of stops in post, there is likely something wrong with your camera. I would contact BMD support and send them a raw frame from your camera.

What other light sources were on in the room?
Were there lights in the ceiling?

are you able to reproduce this behaviour in a different resolution and/or raw instead of prores?

If yes, then I believe that something in the sensor signal processing pipeline is broken.

if i turn on the camera now i have issues in the blacks, yellow and specially in the purpule tones. But only for 5 minutes until the camerera is getting warm. after that everything is working fine.

for few minutes i found a new issue. if i hit the record in warming up phase and i try to play back the clip i get black screen. if turn off the camera and again on, balck screen. i have to wait about 10 minutes, then 5 minutes for getting the camera warm, after that works everything fine again.

First thing I do on a shoot normally, after levelling the tripod, is turn on the camera. I then run through some settings and exposure checks and test focus (all manual) throughout the areas of interest for the shoot. It's probably turned on for more than ten minutes before I press record. But I have shot much faster for my own personal tests and never seen the behaviour you have. However, if having the camera on for a few minutes longer prevents the problem, at least there's a workaround. I never turn the camera off until the shoot at the same setting or location is over, say one to three hours, so everything internally is stable throughout.

Of course, I don't offload or change CFast 2 cards during that period and I manage with my 2x256GB cards by varying the resolution and codec and even frame rate if needed. Typically shooting events in 2K raw and 30-60 fps for the web. If the shoot is long I use raw 4:1/3:1, if short, then raw. Same with ProRes: 422 HQ if long, 444/XQ if short.
