UM46k - Sigma 8-16 test series

PostSat Jun 17, 2017 7:43 pm

Because Krzysztof wanted to know how the Sigma 8-16 performs on the UM46k I have done a simple test series today for him. Here are the results; first a series of different focal lengths at the same f-stop and then a series of 8 mm focal length and different f-stops.
Please click the preview for the 3840x2160 images.

Thank You Robert, appreciate it very much :)

Yesterday i have ordered the lens, I have found a very good deal for a used one so I am very glad after seeing the results. Just for a confirmation - is this was taken with a full 4.6k resolution? Images are 3840x2160, i hope it was not captured in raw with this (slightly more cropped) resolution.

Cheers

Pictures have been captured with full sensor readout in ProRes HQ UHD.
You can see that at 8mm there is some vignetting at the left and right side, which I think is attributed to the integrated sun shade.
I had bought this lens originally for my BMCC where it is a very nice wide angle lens at its sweet spot.

What a great lens! - so on UM46K it is almost like 11mm on FF :) Thanks again!
