4K Monitor and Anamorphic

PostWed Jul 26, 2017 12:12 am

Hi,

Not sure if there has been a post previously on this, but I recently shot with Kowa Anamorphic lenses with the Ursa Mini Pro, using the Black Magic 4K monitor to desqueeze the 2x image. I noticed that the monitor did not give me the full image of what I was shooting. It seemed to not show the farthest sides of the image, so when I imported it, it was obviously much wider. This affected my composition greatly, as I would have unwanted things once I saw the footage on my computer.

Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Maybe a firmware update needs to happen.

Tyler, there is another thread here on this problem. No solution yet from BMD, but using a monitor from a competitor provided a proper 2x desqueeze.
