blackmagic video assist with c300mk2

PostSun Jul 30, 2017 1:29 am

I can only get the REC OUT to appear on the VA as being HD.

Also the rec trigger isn't recognized through SDI. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys!

Keep up the great work!

It's a weird thing, but it's possible the SDI cable you're using doesn't have the bandwidth to get the full speed 6G-SDI from the C300 MKII.

I tried testing this in our shop when I got my BMVA 4K and I, too, couldn't get a 4K output. In addition, you might check a Canon resource / forum for this information as the BMVA 4K accepts whatever signal is presented by the camera. I tested this with a Sony ENG style 4K camera I have and it displayed the UHD 23.98 signal without issue.

I can confirm that, if sdi cable.is not enough good you cannot manage 6g /4k signal only HD. I meet this problems months ago, when I bought a zakuto sdi cable 6g guarantee I had all, 4k and trigger.

I do not think the C300 uses record trigger, you need to set the VA to TC Trigger, and have the C300 set to TC Revord run (not TC Free Run) so when the VA senses a TC signal itbwill trigger record.
