RIG suggestions

PostTue Mar 26, 2013 8:49 pm

Could someone throw an advice about best price/quality rig?

I really like the Bmcc Tilta rig, is it worth it?

Tilta quality is top notch.

I have a slightly different one for my FS100 - most of it (together with some Viewfactor bits) I use now with the BMC, great bang for the buck.

Here's mine, love it, although it is not the BMCC design, just the DSLR3 from Tilta.

It would help to know what kind of rig you like and what your budget is.

1. Shoulder support? If so do you want bulldog style, on shoulder, offset shoulder?
2. Accesories: Matte box, follow focus, battery pinch, battery support, top handle,
3. Do you need a cage?
4. Range you can spend.

I'm a huge fan of LanParte gear, professional gear, prosumer price, excellent reliability and build quality.

Anyone tried the dropfocus rig? Looks pretty solid. Adustable to fit DSLR and BMCC. One rig fits all. Swing away matbox , follow focus, V mount..the works. I am thinking of getting one rig for my three bodies. Well Canon 7D, 5D and back ordered BMCC

The "One Rig Fits All" or "One Rig Has All" is your mistake period!, this is my last comment on this subject!
A rig that works for you takes time to configure, But hey be my guest and buy a complete system from China! But you have been warned!, And please do not come here trying explain how much you love your new "Complete China Rig" when you have only shot a few hours of video, that is just not acceptable, Come back when you have shot 500 hrs plus with your rig, then come and tell us the obvious.
