Best Way to Attach Add-Ons

PostWed Oct 18, 2017 7:35 pm

Hi, I'm currently looking to attach a few different devices to the Ursa Mini Pro and i'm wondering some of the best ways to configure or rig everything together on the camera.

Right now I have the Atoch SSD Recorder Dock as well as a shotgun Mic that I want to attach to the camera.

Right now I have the Top handle attached to the camera from the BM Shoulder Kit set.

I would look at the Smallrig 1854 and the rest of their stuff for the UM http://www.smallrig.com/cages/blackmagic/ursa-mini.html

Also, Wooden Camera makes a nice top plate for the auras Mini as well as some other accessories.

To keep weight down, I skipped the cheese plate and just put a 150mm nato rail on top of the Ursa Mini.

I put nato clamps on everything from a handle to the BMD viewfinder so I can build it up or strip it down in seconds.

And for times when you don't need the side handle, I remember Marco Solorio posted somewhere a quick release setup he built from cheap standard parts for attaching other accessories in place of the side handle. I add a link if I remember where to find it.
