Ursa Mini - black & white LUT ?

PostThu Oct 19, 2017 12:00 pm

Does anyone know, where to get e "black and white" LUT for the Ursa Mini?

The director wants to look at the image without colors. I could probably turn down the colors on the directors monitor, but a B&W LUT will be great to have.

Thanks :)

I have one. I'll share it later if you wish, but you could also create your own. The key is to give some good contrast that helps make the whites stark contrast to the blacks.

EDIT: Already had mine on Drop Box so I could share my LUTs between my computers. Link below.

Thanks, timbutt2, your LUT works great :)

Do you export it somehow from Premiere or is there a software for LUTs?

Made it in DaVinci Resolve. I make all my LUTs in DaVinci Resolve. Resolve is far better for color work than Premiere, and allows you to easily create LUTs.

Hi timbutt2,

I would like to share with you my experience about this LUT.

Are you able to create a version BMPCC 4K?

thanks

While this is a very good looking LUT, I'd like to encourage you to try another approach to b&w:
Play with the channel operations!
They can give you b&w looks like from the era of silent movies by using only specific color channels only (or mixing them).
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Thanks Uli!

I was simply using it on camera so I can focus better. no with the Resolve.
