We have a added a new battery plate to our accessories list for our URSA Cameras for people who prefer the three-stud gold mount system. Pricing is on the website now and they should be available from your favourite BMD dealer soon.

It has a p-tap connector on the top for powering accessories and feeds through percentage information from compatible digital and cine batteries to URSA Mini OS so you can it directly in your overlays.

Would have bought that if it was available at NAB 2016, but now I’m in the IDX world. Maybe go for the Gold when my IDX battery wears out (but it’s going strong, darn it)!

I think at this moment it will only work for the Ursa Mini Pro..
They are still investigating if it can be made compatible with the older Ursa Mini series. But if they get it right you will be able to download a Firmware update to support the Gold mount.. :geek:

   Sorry guys.. Could not hold my laugh.. :D But yes a good thing Gold mount is now available.

No it works with every URSA camera straight out of the box. No firmware update required.

Am I missing something? I’ve had Authentic Anton Bauer Gold mount plate on my ursa 4.6ks since day 1.

Works beautifully with voltage readout etc.

That’s exactly what I told Rick.

This one announced must be the Blackmagic brand one.

That’s right, Jason. I was referring to the BMD branded plate. We just had some fun here!

Anyone know a reseller in the USA that actually has the new Gold Mount battery plate? B&H doesn't even have it listed at all, not even under the wonderfully ambiguous "coming soon" that all of us original 4.6K Ursa Mini owners know so well ;)

Hello all,

Thank you for all the information. Are Blackmagic's URSA V-lock battery plate and URSA gold battery plate identical in terms of how the molex power connector connects?

Mike

Yes, it should be the same connector.
Cheers
