s16m PL Lens->PL to EF adapter->EF 1.4 Extender->BMCC

PostWed Apr 03, 2013 2:03 am

Hello!

Would such a configuration work?

s16m PL Lens -> EF adapter -> 1.4 Extender -> BMCC

I know that some s16mm zoom lenses have worked on the BMCC with a PL to EF adapter with the onlyproblem being that they just don't cover the entire sensor well enough for it to be a reliable option (unless you don't mind going through the hassle of cropping and losing resolution).

But shouldn't this theoretically work? Canon's 1.4x extender works with all EF lenses so why shouldn't it with a PL to EF adapter and a s16mm PL zoom lens? If the flange distance of whatever EF lens should be the same as that of a PL lens with a PL to EF adapter, it should theoretically work, right? And given that s16mm format crop compared to the BMCC is 1.4, wouldn't it be ideal?

Has anyone tried this? What are the drawbacks?

Would these work?:

im not sure if in case of BMCC will work the same but in situation of useing Nikons DSRL useing adpater without inside lens couse that you will not be able to focus at infinity.

Backing to your situation, im not shure if if there will be a lens, you will be able to mount the adaptor.

Dont take my info as certainty, but better check of that situation.

You can't mount PL lenses to an EF mount; the FFD is not right. So you can stick it on there, yeah; but the witness marks wouldn't line up and you'd have no infinity focus.
If you need to use PL lenses, or want to, you'd need to get a MFT version of the BMCC.

But what if you use an adapter for PL lenses to EF mounts?

ok, lens you show is too long on the back when you will put it to adapter with lens (lens in adapter), if you try another adapter without lens inside, then you will not be able to focuse on infinity.

You can use certain PL lenses on the EF BMCC with a PL to EF adapter. for instance the Zeiss CP2 PL's work along with others listed here:
