Shooting at 60 FPS on BMMCC

PostThu Nov 02, 2017 8:45 am

Hi,

I am using the BM Micro CC, and I have just not been able to shoot video at 60fps. I am using a high speed memory card and have tried changing my shutter angle but still have not been able to shoot at 60 fps. Please help.

You need to use one of the high speed SD cards recommended and tested by BM. I use the SanDisk Extreme Pro cards, no issues (except for the 32GB card), the 128GB and 256GB cards work best. If you are using one of these cards, and still can not record 59.94 (actual frame rate at 60fps) then something is wrong and you should contact BM Support.

What Denny is saying is accurate.

I would like to add for clarification that you also need to select 3:1 RAW to shoot 60fps with the Micro. The uncompressed RAW setting will not allow you to shot 60fps.

Thanks Denny and Tim for your replies,

I am shooting using the Raw 3:1 codec and using SanDisk extreme pro cards 32 gb and 64 gb. Could the reason why I am unable to shoot at 60 fps be the fact that i am not using a card with a higher storage capacity (128 gd and 256 gb) like Denny pointed out? Which means my problem should be solved if use a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 gb.

I am using 64GB Sandisk Extreme Pro cards on my bmmcc at 60p Raw 3:1 without issue.
Perhaps you have knock-off cards. The first card I bought for it was one and didn't even come close in speed to the real thing.

Yes, the 64GB card should work, but the 23GB card will not, I couldn’t even get the 23GB card to work at 29.97 FPS on a Pocket Camera without dropping framesg.
