BMMCC update issue

I would like to be able to have the added option to change FRAME RATE settings via PMW.

After the update, in the remote setting in the camera menu it allows you to map and assign FRAME RATE, CODEC, and AUTO FOCUS, but it does not actually work like it does for ISO, Shutter Angle, White Balance, etc.

I utilize the BMMCC as a handheld cinema camera and need to be able to assign these functions to a remote like the onelittlegoat.com remote.

This simple fix would be a real game changer!

Thanks for your help Blackmagic!

No, FRAME RATE, CODEC, and AUTO FOCUS do not work with simple make/break push button switch contacts across two PMW leads, nor can they be made to do so. This is why Phil developed his new remotes supporting SBus, which can more accurately control these settings. Changing Frsme Rste or Cidec requires a reboot command to the camera, which a simple shorting of the PMW connections can not do this, you need a PMW or SBus controller to give the camera the correct value setting to change these settings on the camera.

If you are interested, I have one of a Phil’s new Ver 3 SBus remotes for sale. Send a PM For details.
Cheers

actual PWM should work fine - if you mean just shorting the connection (ie connecting the pwm wires directly to a push button) then no they won't work as they are set up to respond to an absolute 'value' interpreted from either a pwm or sbus signal (that this is true for one push auto focus is a bit surprising as you would expect that to work like a switch really)

It is really strange and un logical but Frame rate and Codec settings change just don't works in fixed button PWM switch mode. You need to use simple PWM Servo Controller https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... rs&_sop=15 to control it in same way as Zoom, Focus and Audio Levels.

That Servo controller need 5V power. You can power it from USB or directly from BMMCC D-SUB expansion port. There are S1 S2 S3 and S4 pin arrays for data and power. This controller can remote up to 4 channels at same time. See marks near pins on controller.
Connect DC power to [+] pin.
Connect PWM data to [SERVO] pin
Connect common ground to [-] pin
