I want to buy a ursa mini pro , i am not a pro ,but i like the mini pro. better than other cameras.
i have some questions .
Some of the pro film camera people say that the ursa mini pro ,have the same film quality as the cameras around
80.000 dollars , they say its not possible , they think that Blackmagic use only low class products in the camera .
I not belief that , but i am not sure ,because i don't know the quality of the inside hard ware of the camera.
how is it possible that Blackmagic can do film quality for a low price ?

2 i see some people have some problems with hot pixels , als my canon 5d mark II have the same.
i think all cameras have this yes? give Blackmagic garantie for censors with dead or hot pixels?

greetings
from the Nederlands ;)

The BM Ursa Mini Pro, is not a “point and shot” video camera, that gives yiu great results right out of the box. It is a camera that requires a considerable work flow, once a scene is shot, to get those “great looking” images, considerable post processing is required using Resolve to “process” the images I to useable video. Think of it as processing a film negative into a useable positive print ready to use.

This will require a fairly substantial computer that can run Resolve and handle 4K PorRes or raw files that are much bigger than those from a Canon DSLR.
Also, a camera like the Ursa Mini requires a good working knowledge of lighting and how it effects your image quality, filters, including IR-Cut filtering, etc. it requires a substantial tripod, your small Canon DSLR sticks are not going to work. You will need to add an EVF and shoulder kit for shoulder mounted shooting, a good mic to get useable audio, and the list goes on. By the time to get all the bits yiu need, an extra $2-4K is required above the camera cost.

Yes the price point for good looking, high quality images is coming down. You have the Ursa Mini, with its Alexia like image quality, and the new Panasonic EVA1, with its Varicam-like quality image. Both cameras under $8K, for the base camera. But both cameras will still need some added bits to be fully useful, so you are looking at something closer to $10K or more to get a kitted out Camera that is ready to use.
Cheers

Not really. You need more graphics memory such as 4 GB or more and should have 16 GB real system memory as a practical minimum. Look at the Resolve Configuration guide available on BMD Support site if you need guidance. Those specs in the guide support real-time playback but if you sacrifice playback you still need a better system to do most projects.
