Using Sigma 18-35 with a Pl Mount with BMPC

PostWed Dec 20, 2017 1:52 am

Hello, like the title says I've got a BMPC with a PL Mount. I would like to use a Sigma 18-35mm lens and was curious what the best adapters are for this. I've done some searching on the forum but haven't found this information on any other threads yet so please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere. Any help is appreciated!

What mount is the Sigma lens? Unless the Sigma us a rehoused Cine version with a PL mount, it is not going to work. The PL mount camera FFD is 52mm, white Nikon F is 46.5mm and Canon EF is 44mm.
You can adapt a PL lens to Canon EF, as the camera EF Mount is shorter than the PL mount lens, but not the other way round. A 52mm FFD is longer than the lens FFD, so even if an adapter existed, you would not get inf. focus, only closeups. Only a longer FFD lenses can be adapted to shorter FFD camera mounts, like Nikon to Canon EF, or both Canon and Nikon to MFT.
