4K & Inferior CCD sensor?

Is the new 4K sensor as good as the custom "science" based sensor of the 2.4K?

Aha! well that sounds good,
however still excited about the 2.4k sensor, as the images coming out of it were amazing and downscaling to 1080 is magic. Wonder if they are still working with that company?
and wonder if the MFT is still coming out?
no mention of it yet....
