BM URSA MINI ADD-ON SSD RECORDER.

I had a look on BM's product line-up but cannot find it. Can anyone inform me if


it operates as an independent recorder,

takes its vision and audio feed from the camera's external SDI outputs,

is start-stop controlled from the SDI output,

has alternative manually operated start-stop independent of camera controlled start-stop,

draws only its power from its interposed position between battery plate and camera body.

whether it operates on the URSA Mini 4K or could be made to operate on the original big URSA.

Has anyone connected any of the after-market SSD recorders to the big URSA.


Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

There are numerous large factual errors with that video.

URSA Mini SSD Recorder is on the accessories page of the URSA Mini section on our website.
It currently works with the Mini Pro and the Mini 4.6K. We are hoping to add support for the Mini 4K shortly.

Going by your reply it seems that the big URSA may end up in the orphanage on this one. Actual physicial fitment to the back of the big URSA is not an issue for me. I'll just make my own if necessary so my curiosity is whether it will play nice electronically with the big URSA.

Robert, the SSD requires a special,operating system/firmware upgrade to work. So far, only the Ursa Mini Pro and recently the UM 4.6have the FW upgrade. BM is working on the UM 4K next, and perhaps the big Ursa after that?

Denny I hope so ..I have 2 ssd recorders one on my ursa mini 4.6k and one on my pro. Now I just need one for my big ursa ..all I’m waiting to see/hear is the turret is available, we get a nice firmware update for the big ursa and compatibility with the Ssd recorder. After that BM pretty much has my money from there on out.
