ANOTHER EBAY TOO GOOD TO BE TRUEY OR NOT ????

PostSun Jan 14, 2018 5:18 pm

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Blackmagic-Des ... SwE7JaW4u1

A link seems to take the intended customer off the eBay system but I am not savvy enough to work it out. Maybe someone else here can.

I am not in the market for one as I already have a PL version but some other person may be and either gets the bargain of the century or gets burned.

Judging by the other listings associated with the account - I’d say definitely a compromised account.

The obvious signs are:
Huge numbers of new listings of high value items.
Instructions to complete outside of ebay system.
Seller was low volume , but now has over 3600 items , photography , farm equipment ?

Stay away ! If you are feeling like a good samaritan - report the listings.

Fake! Stay well clear - I stupidly lost money on something like this. The account has been spoofed. I was directed to ebay transfers, which looked legit (duh). I needed a cheap second body for a job, needless to say I lost the money. What's compelling is that the photos are stolen from somewhere else - they not using BM images, rather, advertising kit that looks convincingly worn.

Patrick, did eBay help you recover your funds?

I git caught in a stolen account UD on a lens purchase, eBay siscivered thevissue after I paid, and deleted the listing, then they would not do anything about my loss, unable to file a claim as the listing no longer existed. PayPal denied the claim, but I had paid with a Visa card, and the bank returned my money and went after PayPal directly. Bottom line, if it is, “too good a deal to be true” — it is a scam, stay away!

Good point, Denny, I always pay via PayPal with my bank credit card. Gives you a few weeks longer to resolve any products MIA.
