Hi all,
New to this but watching as many YouTube videos as i can on the BlackMagic URSA (big one).

Did a test run last night on a band, it was in doors and they have great lighting.
On my settings it was as follows:
Codec - ProRes HQ
Resolution - 3840 x 2160
Sensor area - Full
Dynamic Range - Video
Project Frame Rate - 29.97
Sensor Frame Rate - Match

But on play back on my MacBook its as though i have set the fame rate to 80 as its very slow.
Also my sound is shocking even with using a good mic.

Any ideas what i have done wrong?

There are two possibilities: 1) Your MacBook Pro’s tech specs aren’t good enough to playback UHD content, or 2) the MacBook Pro is good enough but the read/write speed of the drive you have the footage on isn’t fast enough to playback the UHD footage.

What are the tech specs of the computer you’re using? What’s the read/write speed of your drive?

Also, try playing back the footage on the camera, and see how is looks and plays. If it is good, then Tim’s comments are the next to follow, it is a computer issue.
Cheers

Cheers, my MacBook should be ok.

i7, 16gb ram with 1TB SSD drive.
Might need a sort though as getting full and amount of stuff running slowing it down
