[ISSUE] USB connectivity

PostThu Apr 11, 2013 2:18 pm

Got my camera... *uuuh... shiny!* ... check
Shot some (ugly) stuff to test ... check
Plugged it into my MAC with Thunderbolt and Media Express ... fail
Remembered to adjust all settings in Media Express to exactly match the camera ... check
Plugged it into my MAC with USB ... fail (no driver gets loaded)
Plugged it into my PC with USB ... fail (no driver gets loaded)

Did this happen to anybody else?

Oh, and yes, I obviously installed the Camera Software (1.2) on both systems first...

Just noticed that the camera is showing the following USB id:

USB\VID_1EDB&PID_BD75

And the INF file in the camera software download references

USB\VID_1EDB&PID_BD5B

Since this looked like a FOOBAR to me, I adjusted the INF file to use BD75 instead of BD5B (just search/replace all instances) and it installed the driver just fine...

The software still insists, that the camera is not yet connected though...

BMD -> wazzup?

The USB is only for firmware update using the BMCC camera utility on the disc supplied with the camera. No other function can be done across USB.

Someone a bit more knowledgeable may be able to chime in, but I believe the only way to get footage off and work with it, is using a HDD dock.

I believe that is true, but that doesn't really relate to my issue :). The camera is NOT recognized by the Camera Utility...

Hi

I know what's going on and will have a software update for you very soon. However you won't need to run the camera utility as your camera will have shipped with the latest software.
